JBM:
First, for those who live in caves (as many webmasters actually
do) can you tell us the main sites in your empire?
SHEMP:
My largest and most well known site is the TGP, Shemp.com
I also have shempland.com,
flashbaxxx.com,
gartergirls.com,
legendsofsex.com
I also am a co-owner with Orgasmics on the site XXXhair.com
and with Nina on Ninaknowsmovies.com
and Uniformxxx.net
Shempsexstories.com
is co owned by Amber (crazy naked chick) and me.
I am currently looking for a webmaster for Bukkake Shemp,
if anyone is interested.
JBM:
You are well known as one of the more helpful people around
and you don’t shun newbie’s, why not?
SHEMP:
There are lots of very successful webmasters that started
out submitting galleries to Shemp.com
I think you should always treat others respectfully, until
they give you a reason not to. I do share some very general
TGP insight, however, I do keep the "good stuff"
among our group. I’m fortunate to have the respect of
a lot of webmasters and I like my role as an "old sage"
JBM:
Have paid gallery placements made tgp's more profitable or
simply made up for lost revenues in other areas?
SHEMP:
I have really cut back on selling spots, its generally more
profitable to put your own galleries in those spots. That
is, assuming you have "real traffic" Selling gallery
spots has become the "norm" now, with companies
setting up to represent many TGPs, on a commission basis.
As an independent, I have a very difficult time competing
with the "big box gallery spot sellers", so I do
what I know best...support our own sites first.
I still do deal directly with program owners though, its not
just gallery sales...Our best advertising plan is the "Shemp
Triple Bang"....3 galleries a day, a banner in the TGP
rotation and a webmaster banner/link to the program in the
webmaster area.
Now that really supports an advertiser...
JBM:
Do you see a time when all galleries listed will be paid spots?
SHEMP:
I think the idea of paying for a yearly/monthly submit pass
is worthy.
And it would certainly reduce the number of submits that we
get each day (over 4000)
JBM:
What’s your best advice for gallery makers who are starting
out and don’t have many partner accounts?
SHEMP:
Buy a disc of good content and make some real clean galleries
on paid hosting. Contact your favorite TGP owner by email.
Tell him a little bit about yourself, show him some galleries.
In other words, separate yourself from the rest of the webmasters.
Ask him if he will list your galleries, then ask about getting
an account...Dont be stupid about it either. If you are using
a free host and a free email account, move along...you are
finished before you even started.. Once you get one account,
use that as a reference for other TGPs. Lots of people leave
the business everyday, there are openings for good honest
gallery submitters...
JBM:
Does it bother you when people bash tgp's?
SHEMP:
Absolutely, however what bothers me more is people thinking
that all TGPs are the same. There is a huge difference between
a site like Shemp and a site based on pure blind linking surfers
around. But the thing that bothers me most are people that
bash TGPs on the boards, but continue to send me galleries
to list. That is just wrong, and I have no tolerance for it.
JBM:
What’s your biggest regret over the many years you've
been in the industry?
SHEMP:
Business wise, I have no regrets. As a retired engineer I
plan everything, everything is a project with me. So if something
doesn’t work out, I don’t regret it, I analyze
it.
On a personal note, I have quite a few regrets, but you will
have to wait for my book.
JBM:
Where did the name "shemp" come from?
SHEMP:
"S Hemp" is short for smoke hemp.
JBM:
Got any predictions for the future of TGP's?
SHEMP:
Ya, the Hun will continue to grow :)
5% of the TGPs will make 95% of the revenue.
Look for one or two to get slapped real hard by the US government.
JBM:
Thanks so much for the interview, its always a pleasure to
talk to you. Is there anything you would like to add in closing?
SHEMP:
"submit it and forget it"
you're welcome :)
